Deliveries & redelivery
In the appSales (filters Undelivered and Late)
Everything you sell, in-world or in your online shop, is delivered by your DropBox in Second Life. If a delivery fails, Plurion tries again.
What happens when someone buys
- The buyer paysThe L$ land in your account at once. If Plurion refuses the sale or can’t be reached, the vendor refunds the buyer in full and tells you in your local chat.
- Plurion records the saleThe buyer reads “Thanks! Aurora Jacket is on its way.” On the Free plan, L$5 goes to Plurion (how), and partners get a share if you set up splits.
- Your DropBox gives the itemUsually within seconds. The sale is marked delivered as soon as the box gives it. The buyer only has to accept the offer.
If a DropBox can’t deliver
Each try asks your live DropBoxes in turn (those holding the item first, then by priority), so a second box can take over if the first is down. If none delivers, Plurion tries again, up to 8 tries over about 30 hours. If every box says the item is missing, the sale fails at once.
After 15 minutes without delivery, the sale shows in the number next to Sales, in the bell (“Delivery delayed — still retrying”) and under Late on Sales. Fix the cause, and the next try delivers it, though it can be hours away.
When a sale shows as undelivered
After the last try, the sale is marked failed and waits for you, in the number next to Sales and in the bell. The cause is almost always that no live DropBox holds the item under that exact name.
On their hub page, the buyer sees On its way during the retries, then Failed, with a Report button that opens a support ticket about this order.
What to do
- On the webFind the saleClick its line in the bell. Or, on
Sales, set the period to All time and press Undelivered. - On the webSee whyIn the sale, open Technical details.
Delivery attemptslists each try with an error code, explained in the table below. - In Second LifeFix the causeUsually, put the item back into a DropBox, under exactly the name in the product’s
Item to deliver. The No inventory filter on Products lists every product in that state. - On the webRetry or refundRetry delivery sends it again right away. If you refund the buyer in-world instead, click Mark refunded, then Confirm refund, so your records match.
What each error code means
| Error code | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
perm_item_missing | The DropBox has no item with exactly this name (renamed, removed, or a no-copy item already given away). | Put the item back, or fix Item to deliver on the product. Then Retry delivery. |
perm_no_transfer | The item is no-transfer for you (you got it from another creator with Transfer unchecked), so the box can’t give it. | Replace it with a transferable copy, then Retry delivery. |
no_dropbox | No live DropBox in your shop. | Check your boxes on DropBoxes, and rez one if needed. |
network · dropbox_5xx · attempt_timeout | A box couldn’t be reached (its region is down or restarting). | Usually clears by itself. A second DropBox in another region covers it next time. |
dropbox_429 | The box was busy (more than 60 deliveries in a minute). | Nothing. Another live DropBox holding the item takes over, or Plurion tries again. |
dropbox_401 · dropbox_400 | The box refused Plurion’s request. | Ask for help on the Plurion Discord with the sale’s Transaction ID (in Technical details). |
Sending an item again
If a customer lost an item or never accepted the offer, you can send it again in three ways. None of them charges anyone or pays your partners again.
| Way | Who | How |
|---|---|---|
| Redeliver | You (owner, admin or CSR) | Open the sale in Sales (or the customer’s history on Customers) and click Redeliver. A CSR does it from the customer’s open support ticket. Only on delivered sales, gacha pulls excepted. If the product doesn’t allow redelivery, an owner or admin can Force redeliver for this customer. |
| Self-service | The customer | On their own page, Deliver next to the purchase. They get there from your Plurion Terminal or by signing in. Only for products that allow redelivery. |
| Share redelivery link | You (owner, admin or CSR) | On the customer’s page in Customers (a CSR uses their open ticket). It copies a one-time link, valid 15 minutes, for you to IM them. |
For a sale that was never delivered, use Retry delivery (above).
Rez a Plurion Terminal and most “I lost my item” messages never reach you. Redelivery is on by default. Turn Allow customer redelivery off on a product for limited editions or event exclusives (see Redelivery).
