Your online shop

In the appStore → Storefront

Your online shop is where customers buy your products on the web, with store credit, inside their customer hub. It already exists, with default settings, and Storefront sets how it looks.

What your customer sees, and which tab sets it

How customers pay and receive

  • Store credit only. Customers buy credit at your Plurion Terminal, or receive it as a gift sent from one. Without a Plurion Terminal in your shop, nobody can get credit to spend here. The Storefront page reminds you at the top.
  • Who sees it: anyone who opens their page from your Plurion Terminal (Access my page), and every customer who has bought from you, received credit from you or opened a ticket with you.
  • Your regular price. Scheduled discounts, promo codes and loyalty offers apply only at your in-world vendors (where reductions apply).
  • Delivered in-world by your DropBox, like a vendor sale. If the item can’t be delivered, the credit goes back to the customer automatically.

Which products appear

A product appears in your online shop when all three are true:

  1. The product is Active
  2. List in your online shop is switched on
  3. Its item sits in a DropBox that is online
  4. Listed, at its regular price
The three conditions

An event can still hide it for a while (see Events below).

Not listed? The product’s Where it’s sold panel says why
The panel saysWhat to do
Not listed: status is DraftSet the product to Active. (The panel may also say Sold out or Archived.)
Not listed: switched off in Online shopSwitch on List in your online shop on the product page. For several products, select them in Products and set Online shop to On.
Not listed: no live DropBox holds your itemPut the item in a DropBox, or bring that DropBox back online (DropBoxes).
Hidden until your event opensNothing. The item waits for its event (see below).

Edit, preview, publish

Your changes stay a draft until you publish
  1. On the webOpen the pageOpen Store → Storefront. Settings are on the left, in four tabs, and the preview of what a customer sees is on the right. Hide settings gives the preview the full width.
  2. On the webChange what you likeEach change saves on its own as a draft. You see Saving…, then Saved. Customers don’t see it yet, and the pill at the top reads Unpublished changes.
  3. On the webPublishClick Publish, and customers see the new version on their next visit. To throw the draft away instead, click Revert to published. Open full view shows the preview full size.

The settings, tab by tab

Identity tab
SettingWhat it does
Name & logoCome from your shop’s Settings. Click Edit in Settings to change them (Shop settings). The online shop has no separate logo.
TaglineOne line under your name, 80 characters.
Shop colorTints the buttons, prices and highlights of your online shop only. If it says Too hard to read on the dark cards, pick another color, since Publish refuses it.
BannerNone, Preset 1 to Preset 3 (they follow your color), or an image you upload. Wide images work best.
AnnouncementSwitch on Show an announcement for a one-line message under the banner, 160 characters.
Creator's noteA few lines, 400 characters, shown with your featured item or on their own. Plain text, so links aren’t clickable.
Inworld storeSwitch on Show my inworld store and paste your store’s map link (SLurl), with an optional label. Customers get a Visit in Second Life link.

A map link (SLurl) looks like https://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Region/128/128/25. Copy it from your viewer’s World Map (Copy SLurl) or from maps.secondlife.com.

Layout and Sections tabs
  • Layout → Cards. Picture shape (Square, Portrait, Wide), Density (Large, Standard, Compact: 2, 3 or 4 columns on a computer, always 2 on a phone) and Corners (Sharp, Soft, Round).
  • Layout → Sections. The order of Featured item & creator note, Events, Next drop and Full catalog. Drag them or use the arrows, and the eye hides a section. A section with nothing to show is left out automatically.
  • Sections → Featured item. One product shown large, with a badge (FEATURED by default) and a short note. If it can’t be bought online right now, its card is hidden and its product page says why. Your creator’s note still shows.
  • Sections → Next drop. A label, a date and time in SLT, and a note. Customers see a countdown that disappears when the time comes.

What customers see on a product

Clicking a product opens its sheet: picture, name, price, permissions, your description and one button. You write the description and tick the permissions on the product’s page, under Online shop (next owner permissions). In your preview, the sheet opens but buys nothing.

What the button says
The button readsWhen
Buy L$ 100They have enough credit.
L$ 30 shortNot enough credit. The sheet tells them to buy more at your Plurion Terminal.
On its way…Right after a purchase, until the delivery is confirmed, even if they reload the page.
RedeliverThey already own it and redelivery is on for that product.
Owned badge, and BuyThey own it, but you turned redelivery off for that product.
TP to buyThe item is exclusive to a running event (badge EVENT ONLY). The button opens the event’s place on the Second Life map. Without a map link, it reads “At” and the event name.

Events and exclusivity

If you release an item at an in-world event first, link it to the event. Your online shop won’t sell it until the event is over, then sells it again by itself.

  1. On the webAdd the eventOn Storefront, open the Events tab and click Add event. Give it a Title and an opening time, Opens (SLT).
  2. On the webChoose how long it runsDuration: 2 weeks, 1 month or Custom end. An event lasts 90 days at most and opens within a year.
  3. On the webLink the items and createTick them under Linked items. Add the Event location (SLurl) for the TP to buy button and, if you like, an Image and a Note. Click Create event. It applies at once, without Publish.
WhenWhat customers see online
Before it opensThe linked items are hidden everywhere in your online shop and can’t be bought with credit. The event card can already announce it.
While it runsThe items show EVENT ONLY and TP to buy. Buying them with credit is refused. A customer who already owns one keeps Redeliver.
After it endsEverything comes back by itself, with nothing to switch off.

The tab lists your events under Live, Upcoming and Ended. An event with no linked item is just an announcement card. Deleting one (the bin icon on its row) frees its items at once.

An event with an Event location (SLurl) also appears in your private Planning, which follows the sales your vendors make on that sim during its dates.

Common questions

Do my customers see the online shop before I publish anything?
Yes, with the default settings: a preset banner, your name and logo, and every product that meets the three conditions above.
A customer says the price online is higher than at my vendor.
A scheduled discount is probably running. It lowers the price at your vendors only (where reductions apply).
Why aren’t my gacha prizes in my online shop?
Products created for a gacha machine start with List in your online shop switched off, so nobody can buy a rare prize without playing. Switch it on for the ones you do want to sell online.
Can customers see my sales, or how many people own an item?
No. The online shop shows prices and what the customer looking at it owns, nothing else.

No chapter matches.
